Reportedly, Facebook will purchase WhatsApp Messenger for $4 billion cash, $12 billion worth of shares for WhatsApp, plus an additional $3 billion in restricted stock will be given to the applications founders and employees over the course of four years. The total cost of this transition will estimate $19 billion–Facebook’s largest acquisition to date.
